Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Special Assistant on Information Shafi Jan attended the parliamentary session of ‘Young Leaders Parliament’ as a special guest and administered the oath of office to the newly elected cabinet and members and congratulated them.

Addressing the ceremony, Shafi Jan stressed the importance of youth and said that 60 percent of Pakistan’s population consists of youth, who are the real asset and bright future of any nation. He said that the provincial government is taking practical steps to empower the youth, provide them with education, employment and leadership opportunities.

The special assistant mentioned the sacrifices of the founding PTI in his address and said the founding chairman faced unjust imprisonment and hardships in his 30-year political struggle, thanks to which he is the most popular leader of the country today.

It is because of his vision that the youth of PTI have reached the national and provincial assemblies today. The founder can be imprisoned in fake cases, but it is impossible to imprison his ideology.

He abolished the two-party system from the country and PTI emerged as the largest party in the 2024 elections, but unfortunately the public mandate was stolen through ‘Form 47’. Shafi Jan criticized the federation and said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa owes billions of rupees to the federation in the form of NFC shares and hydropower profits.

He clarified that if the federal government releases these funds, they will be spent on health and other public welfare sectors. He also praised Chief Minister Sohail Afridi for fighting the case of provincial rights in the best possible way.

At the end of the ceremony, deep sorrow and grief were expressed over the martyrdom of Sheikh-ul-Hadith Maulana Muhammad Idrees. Shafi Jan, while describing it as a major national tragedy, assured that the killers would soon be brought to justice. Special collective prayers were also offered for the martyr’s high status in the ceremony.
