PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shaukat Yousafzai has said that those who called for the party’s long march would be responsible if any untoward incident occurred during the protest.
Speaking to the media, Yousafzai, PTI’s provincial information secretary, said he would participate in the party’s long march scheduled for October 4 and clarified that he was not opposed to the protest.
“I have presented my suggestion to the party,” Yousafzai said, adding that his position had been conveyed to the party leadership.
Referring to the events of November 26, 2024, he said that the situation could have been avoided if negotiations had taken place on November 24. He claimed that the November 26 long march had resulted in PTI founder Imran Khan spending another two years in jail.
“I still say that if any loss occurs because of the long march, those who called for it will be responsible,” Yousafzai said.

He emphasized that he had remained loyal to the party in the past and continued to be loyal to it.
Yousafzai also said the party was free to take disciplinary action against him if it wished. However, he reiterated that he would definitely participate in the October 4 long march, while his reservations and suggestions remained before the party for consideration.
