LAKKI MARWAT: A blast in the busy market of the Sarai Naurang area of ​​Lakki Marwat killed seven people, including two traffic policemen, and injured 10 others.

According to the police, the blast took place in a rickshaw near Naurang police station, which was so powerful that its sound was heard for miles, and the windows of nearby buildings were smashed. Immediately after the blast, chaos erupted at the scene, and people present in the market started running towards safe places to save their lives. Rescue teams and locals started relief operations on their own help and the bodies of the seven deceased were immediately shifted to Naurang Hospital.

The hospital administration has confirmed that two traffic policemen on duty are also among the martyrs, while the number of injured has crossed 18. The injured brought to the hospital include women and innocent children, some of whom are said to be in critical condition. An emergency has been declared at Sarai Naurang Hospital to provide timely medical assistance to the injured, and all medical staff have been called to duty immediately.

A heavy contingent of security forces and police have cordoned off the scene and started collecting evidence. Initial investigations are trying to ascertain whether the explosives were pre-installed in the rickshaw or it was a suicide attack.

After this cowardly act, security has been put on high alert in the entire district, and search operations have been intensified at the entry and exit points to trace the elements involved.
