A horrific boiler explosion occurred at the Vedanta Power Plant in the Sakti district of Chhattisgarh, India, on Tuesday afternoon. The incident claimed the lives of at least nine workers and left several others injured.
The explosion happened around 2 PM, leading to chaos at the plant, with many workers suffering severe burns. Initial reports indicated that around 15 individuals were injured, but the number could rise to between 30 and 40, with some victims in critical condition.
Rescue teams, police, and firefighters quickly arrived at the scene to assist. The injured were transported to nearby hospitals while rescue operations continued to search for individuals trapped under the debris.
Preliminary findings suggest that the explosion was caused by a burst tube inside the boiler. However, an investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the incident.
