BANNU: The search and strike operation in different areas of Bakakhel Tehsil, Bannu, continued for the second consecutive day on Monday.
Security forces are conducting search operations of suspected individuals and hideouts in the area. A curfew has been imposed in Tehsil Bakakhel and all entry and exit routes have been closed.
Mobile phone and internet services remained suspended across the district for the second day, while checking is also underway on all internal and external routes.
According to officials, more than 24 terrorists have been killed in the operation so far, while several others are reported to have been injured.
Deputy Commissioner held a jirga with tribal elders and notables of Bakakhel. During the meeting, it was agreed to work jointly for the elimination of terrorism from the area.
