KARACHI: Pakistani actress Komal Aziz Khan has officially announced her permanent departure from the entertainment industry, revealing that she stepped away from acting five years ago after filming her last drama, Mohlat, in 2021.
Komal began her television career in 2015 with the drama Ishq-e-Benaam, in which she played Areeba. She later appeared in dramas including Saheliyaan, Bay Khudi, Bisaat-e-Dil, Bharosa Pyar Tera, Raaz-e-Ulfat and Kasa-e-Dil. Her final drama was Mohlat, filmed in 2021, in which she played Nawera.
In a statement shared on Instagram, Komal explained that she had decided not to announce her departure publicly at the time because she wanted to avoid unnecessary attention and first determine whether she could establish a successful business outside the entertainment industry.
She said she now felt ready to share her decision with the public and give her fans closure. Looking back on the past five years, she described the period as a journey of healing and self-love, adding that leaving the limelight had given her time to reflect on her life and find the peace she had been seeking.
Komal also shared a message of gratitude for her followers, thanking them for their continued love and support throughout her acting career. “Aap sab kay pyaar ka bohat shukriya, jis ki shayad main haqdar bhi nahi thi,” she wrote, expressing appreciation for the affection she had received over the years.
The actress also spoke about her personal life, saying she had not yet entered the chapter of marriage. She said she trusted Allah’s plan for her future and asked her followers to pray for her good fortune and success in business.
Komal said she would always value the support of those who had stood by her during her time in showbiz. She ended her message by promising to return the love she had received tenfold.
Born and raised in Karachi, Komal studied Business and Economics at Kalamazoo College in Michigan, United States. Alongside acting, she pursued her entrepreneurial interests and launched her fashion brand, Omal by Komal. She has since focused on business and life outside the entertainment industry.
