YouTube is introducing several changes to its Android and iOS apps, including custom feeds, to improve the user experience on its mobile home page.

According to a report by 9to5Google, the updates begin with a redesign of the app’s top bar, bringing changes to how users access subscriptions and discover content.

As part of the redesign, YouTube is moving the Subscriptions tab from the bottom navigation bar to the top bar. The feature, which has been tested for several months, is now being rolled out. The Subscriptions button will appear alongside the Home button, marked with a red underline.

The redesigned interface will also feature new content feeds, including Live Music and Movies & TV, making it easier for users to explore specific types of content.

However, the most significant addition is a new plus (+) button positioned on the left side of the top bar. Users can tap this button to create a custom feed featuring videos related to topics of their choice.

According to the report, users of YouTube’s free version will be able to save up to three active custom feeds, while YouTube Premium subscribers will be able to save up to eight.

YouTube is initially rolling out custom feeds to users in the United States, with availability expected to expand to other countries in the coming weeks.
