PESHAWAR: A police constable was killed in firing by unknown persons within the limits of Khazana police station.
According to the police, the deceased official has been identified as Mehran, a resident of Mewara. Police officials say that Constable Mehran was going from home to duty when unknown persons opened fire on him on the way.
After the incident, a heavy contingent of police reached the spot, while the body of the deceased official was shifted to the hospital. According to the police, an investigation into the incident has been initiated, while evidence is being collected to arrest the accused.
The incident occurred at a time when Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police observing Police martyr day in the province. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police are faced repeated incidents of target killing and on daily basis police are being attacked in different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
