ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud held a telephone conversation to discuss the prevailing regional situation, recent Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia and efforts to promote regional peace and stability.
During the call, Prime Minister Shehbaz strongly condemned the recent Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, particularly those targeting civilian and economic infrastructure, and expressed Pakistan’s full solidarity with the Saudi leadership and its people.

The prime minister said the Houthi actions posed a threat to regional peace and security and could further disrupt energy supplies and the global economy.
Shehbaz reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to continuing efforts aimed at reducing tensions and promoting peace in the region.
He also praised Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for what he described as wise and farsighted leadership during the ongoing crisis and conveyed his best wishes and profound respect to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
For his part, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman appreciated Pakistan’s continued and steadfast support for Saudi Arabia and commended its efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.
The two leaders agreed to maintain close contact and expressed a desire to meet soon.
