ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said that the international community is increasingly recognizing Pakistan as a responsible mediator and a key contributor to global peace efforts following recent progress toward easing tensions and fostering dialogue between the United States and Iran.

Addressing the National Assembly, Dar said Pakistan’s constructive and balanced diplomacy is receiving widespread appreciation on the international stage.

He noted that the country has consistently played a positive and responsible role in promoting peace and stability in the region and beyond, with the results now becoming increasingly visible worldwide.

The foreign minister stated that Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts helped facilitate direct talks between the United States and Iran after a gap of 47 years, describing the development as a significant step toward improving bilateral relations and enhancing peace and stability across the region.

Dar remarked that there was a time when Pakistan was considered diplomatically isolated, but the situation has changed dramatically.

Today, he said, Pakistan is widely acknowledged as an active and responsible partner in peacebuilding, dialogue, and conflict resolution at the global level.

Highlighting Pakistan’s growing diplomatic significance, he said the country is receiving numerous invitations to participate in major international forums and high-level global meetings, requiring the government to prioritize its engagements.

He emphasized that Pakistan’s balanced foreign policy, positive diplomatic approach, and continued efforts to promote international peace have further strengthened the country’s reputation and standing in the global community.
