Iraq has issued new and strict visa conditions for Pakistani pilgrims. The Ministry of Interior and Iraqi authorities have instructed pilgrims and Ziyarat group organizers to strictly implement the new rules.

The Iraqi government has made it clear that no one traveling alone on a family visa will be allowed to enter Iraq.

A complete ban has also been imposed on the entry of single male pilgrims under the age of 50 into Iraq.

Under the new policy, the same visa cannot be used for Ashura and Arbaeen. The Iraqi visa issued for pilgrimage will be valid for only 30 days.

In case of visa rejection or non-entry at the airport, the visa fee will not be refunded under any circumstances.

The passports of pilgrims leaving Pakistan will remain in the custody of Iraqi immigration authorities upon arrival in Iraq.

The Iraqi government has warned that if the pilgrims overstay their visas, they will face heavy fines, deportation and a lifetime ban on entering Iraq.
