ISLAMABAD: Pakistan military successfully shot down four drones launched by Afghanistan in to Balochistan, said Inter services public relation (ISPR).

In a statement, the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said the four rudimentary drones entered Pakistani airspace on June 30 and were detected immediately by the country’s air defence network.

According to the ISPR, Pakistan’s security forces successfully neutralized all four drones using countermeasures, preventing any damage or casualties.

According to ISPR the drone launches reflected the Afghan Taliban’s continued patronage of militant groups operating from territory under their control.

It further claimed that the attempted incursion was intended to divert attention from the challenges facing the Afghan population.

The Pakistan Armed Forces remain fully vigilant and capable of defending every inch of the motherland, the ISPR said in the statement.

It added that any cross-border provocations or actions threatening Pakistan’s sovereignty and the safety of its citizens would be met with swift, decisive, and overwhelming responses under Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq.

The Afghan authorities had not immediately responded to the ISPR’s allegations at the time of filing this report.
