NOWSHERA (Fazal Nabi): A violent confrontation over a long-standing property dispute in the remote Nizampur area of Nowshera has left five people dead, local police confirmed on Monday.
The incident involved an intense exchange of fire between two rival groups. According to initial police reports, the clash resulted in the deaths of four individuals from one side and one person from the opposing group. Upon receiving the report, a heavy contingent of police personnel was dispatched to the scene to secure the area and initiate a formal investigation.
While the situation remains tense in the locality, authorities have shifted the bodies to a nearby hospital for legal formalities. Police officials stated that while the primary cause has been identified as a property dispute, they are collecting additional evidence and recording witness statements to determine the exact sequence of events. A search operation is reportedly underway to apprehend any remaining suspects involved in the deadly shootout.
Spokesperson for Nowshera police, Turk Ali Shah, told Pakhtun Digital that upon receiving information about the exchange of fire between two warring groups in Mandori village of Nizampur police station, District Police Chief Ahmed Shah sent a heavy police contingent to Mandori under the leadership of Akhtar Naseer Khan, SDPO, Akora Khattak Circle. The police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.
During the search, the police took into custody two active members of the Attaullah gang, Haider Zaman, son of Moin Khan and Raza Khan, son of Ghulam Farid, residents of Jabai.
01 Kalashnikov and 01 pistol were recovered from the possession of the arrested accused and handed over to the police.
District Police Chief Ahmed Shah said on this occasion that “indiscriminate action will continue against those who carry weapons and disturb the peace of the area.”
He said that a police contingent has been deployed in Mandori village, and the situation is completely under control.
