The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) held a prestigious rank-pinning ceremony at the Central Police Office in Islamabad to celebrate the promotion of 447 officers to the rank of Assistant Patrol Officer.

Inspector General Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry served as the chief guest, personally attaching badges to 52 of the promoted officers—a group that notably included 33 women. Similar ceremonies are set to take place at divisional and zonal headquarters, where Additional IGs and DIGs will decorate the remaining personnel.

During his address, IG Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry said that these promotions are a direct reflection of the officers’ tireless dedication and professional excellence. He remarked that such milestones carry increased responsibility, urging the newly promoted staff to uphold the institution’s reputation through integrity, modern traffic management, and superior public service. The IG highlighted that the NHMP’s esteemed standing is built upon impartial law enforcement and timely public assistance, noting that maintaining this trust is a collective duty.

The Inspector General further underscored the importance of continuous, high-quality training as the foundation of the force’s success. He also pointed out the inclusive nature of the promotion list, which features officers from all four provinces, as well as Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, reflecting the nationwide representation within the Motorway Police. Concluding the event, he expressed his confidence that the promoted officers would continue to serve with a renewed passion, further strengthening traffic discipline across the country’s highways.
