ISLAMABAD: A cashless system has been introduced for driving license fees, allowing citizens to make payments via their mobile phones without needing to visit banks.

The National Highways and Motorway Police has implemented this digital payment system to enhance convenience for citizens. This initiative was inaugurated by DIG Operations Asghar Ali, with the goal of simplifying public service delivery, increasing transparency, and reducing long wait times for applicants and queues at banks.

With the new system, citizens can make instant payments using Easypaisa, Jazz Cash, and various banking apps. In collaboration with the National Bank of Pakistan, QR code machines have been set up at the Islamabad Driving Licensing Authority.

Officials have announced that, following Islamabad, similar machines will be installed in Sheikhupura and Quetta, with plans to expand this service nationwide soon.

Motorway Police officials state that this system will save processing time, eliminate the need to visit a bank, allow for real-time payment confirmation, and improve overall efficiency and transparency in the license acquisition process.

This initiative marks a significant step toward digitalization by the Motorway Police, benefiting thousands of applicants every day.
