Gold prices recorded a sharp decline across Pakistan as both local and international markets weakened.
According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24K gold per tola dropped by Rs. 3,700 bringing the new rate to Rs. 426,736.
The price of 10 grams of gold also fell by Rs. 3,202 to Rs. 365,857.
On the international front, gold prices declined by $37 per ounce to settle at $4,043.
Market analysts attribute the drop to easing global rates and reduced buying pressure in domestic markets. The decline follows a period of volatility, with prices having risen and fallen sharply over the past week.
