ISLAMABAD: Thailand-based motorcycle manufacturer GPX has decided to enter the Pakistani market through a joint venture with Royal Power Pakistan, marking a new addition to the country’s growing premium motorcycle segment.

Royal Power Pakistan says we can expect the debut of their motorcycle line-up in June 2026. At first, they’ll offer both entry-level premium motorcycles and high-performance models geared towards gearheads and discerning buyers.

GPX was founded in 2007 and is pretty famous in Thailand for its sporty and classic style bikes. They include modern bells and whistles like digital dials, LED lights, and cool designs in their rides.

But there’s no word yet on how much the bikes will cost or which specific models are coming to Pakistan.

Still, industry pros think Royal GPX’s entrance will crank up the competition in Pakistan’s motorcycle world, especially in the pricier end of the spectrum. There’s been a steady rise in demand for bikes packed with features and more powerful engines over there.

The entry of the Thai manufacturer is expected to provide Pakistani consumers with more choices in a market traditionally dominated by a limited number of established brands.

According to officials, the decision was taken to benefit the public from the petrol subsidy; in that context,  the government has announced the abolition of motorcycle transfer fees in Islamabad.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi says that the transfer fee for motorcycles in Islamabad has been abolished for one month, and the transfer fee has been waived under the Prime Minister’s public relief and subsidy initiative.
