ISLAMABAD: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has released an important forecast concerning the expected weather conditions across the country from May 18 to 23.
The NDMA reports that the current weather patterns align with those predicted in the weather review report for April to June, released 3 to 4 months ago.
From May 19 to 22, rain, wind, and hail are anticipated in various districts of Punjab, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Sialkot, Kasur, Multan, and surrounding areas.
In Balochistan, rain accompanied by strong winds is expected in several regions during the same period, specifically in Quetta, Zhob, Ziarat, Chaman, and Khuzdar. However, the temperature in other parts of Balochistan is likely to rise, leading to increased heat.
Sindh is forecast to experience hot and dry weather, with rising temperatures. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, various districts, including Chitral, Swat, Peshawar, Bannu, Abbottabad, Mansehra, and Landi Kotal, are predicted to receive rain, wind, and hailstorms.
Additionally, thundershowers and hailstorms are anticipated in parts of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, specifically in Gilgit, Skardu, Hunza, Astore, Muzaffarabad, Neelum Valley, Bagh, and Kotli.
The NDMA advises citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during extreme heat or rainfall, steer clear of weak structures and electricity poles, and to adhere to the guidance of local administration and weather advisories.
