ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued an important message for parents regarding the registration of newborn children.

NADRA asked parents to register their babies within one month of their births, saying that the computerised birth registration certificate which is provided on registration at the concerned Union Council, is the first step towards obtaining legal identity for the baby.

As per the message issued by NADRA, parents should get in touch with their concerned Union Council or apply via Pak ID mobile application for getting their babies registered.

NADRA told that the option to apply for birth registration via Pak ID mobile application is available in all districts of Punjab and Sindh, the Peshawar district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, selected districts of Balochistan province and all Union Councils of Islamabad. NADRA said that birth registration is very necessary for future official documents.
