ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a new facility allowing citizens to renew, amend and obtain duplicate computerized arms licences at designated counters in NADRA offices.

According to directions issued by the Ministry of Interior, citizens seeking renewal, amendment or duplicate copies of computerized arms licences can now visit the designated arms licence counters at NADRA offices.

In an awareness message, NADRA said various arms licence-related services are being provided at these dedicated counters.

The facility also covers the renewal of arms licences that have been cancelled by the Ministry of Interior, subject to the applicable procedures.

Citizens can also update personal details mentioned on their arms licences, including photograph, name, father’s name, present address and permanent address, in accordance with their identity records.

However, NADRA clarified that amendments to retainer details, referring to information about the person authorised to possess or retain the weapon, require prior consultation with the Ministry of Interior.

Citizens seeking a duplicate arms licence have been advised to bring the required documents along with their previous arms licence card to complete the process.

NADRA has also provided its 1777 helpline and official website for further guidance regarding arms licence-related services.
