ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced an online system allowing international travelers and Umrah pilgrims to obtain digital vaccination certificates before traveling abroad.
The move comes as the Airport Health Department has made NADRA vaccination certificates mandatory for passengers travelling internationally from all airports. The new rules will effect from September 14, 2026. Under the new system, travelers can obtain a digital vaccination certificate carrying a QR code through the National Immunization Management System (NIMS) without visiting a government office.
Applicants can visit the NIMS portal at nims.nadra.gov.pk and enter their CNIC number, date of issue or passport details. They will then be required to provide the requested personal information and security code before making the payment.
The certificate fee is Rs100, which can be paid online through a debit or credit card, JazzCash or Easypaisa. After confirmation of payment, applicants can download the digital vaccination certificate. The certificate can also be printed and carried with other travel documents.
The Health Department has advised international passengers to complete the process before reaching the airport to avoid delays or the risk of missing their flights. Umrah pilgrims travelling to Saudi Arabia have been specifically advised to obtain their NADRA vaccination certificates before departure. Airlines have also been directed to verify vaccination certificates before issuing boarding passes to Umrah pilgrims.
