CHITRAL: After a local truce between the elders of Arando Chitral and the Afghan elders, the bodies of the Afghan Taliban were transferred on Monday.
A flag meeting (jirga) was organised by 206 MI Chitral, between Afghan advisors and Pakistan Army sector country advisors regarding the exchange of bodies of TTA personnel and a local ceasefire arrangement.
During the meeting, conditions presented by the Chitral Scouts were reportedly accepted by the Afghan advisors. The agreed terms included the handover of bodies, retention of ammunition and weapons by Pakistani security forces, a ceasefire at the local level, restrictions on local residents returning to previously vacated areas, and prior information to Pakistani security forces before any attack in case of war orders from the competent authority.
Following the agreement, the bodies of five TTA personnel were handed over to Afghan jirga advisors.
Recovered Weapons and Ammunition:
The meeting also noted the recovery of the following items:
2× LMG, 2× SMG, 1× Handcuff, 1× RPG-07, 5× fully loaded magazines, 1× Binoculars, 2× ammo pouches, 1× LMG round box, 6× RPG rounds, 60 SMG rounds, 1× modified G3 rifle, and a first aid kit.
Representatives from 141 Wing included individuals from Arandu Khas, while Afghan forces’ advisors from Dokalam and Barikot also participated in the meeting.
