LAHORE: Motorway Police have issued an important travel advisory for motorists as repair work on the M-2 South has led to the temporary closure of some lanes.
According to a Motorway Police spokesperson, repair and patchwork work is underway on the M-2 South near Khanqah Dogran Northbound. The work is being carried out by the Frontier Works Organization (FWO), which may affect traffic flow in the area.
The second and third lanes have been temporarily closed for around 200 to 250 metres during the repair work. Construction, phased filling and other necessary maintenance activities are being carried out at the affected section.
The Motorway Police said special arrangements have been made to ensure motorists’ safety and maintain traffic flow. Cones and diversion signs have been installed around the repair site to alert drivers to changes in the road layout.
Motorists have been advised to reduce their speed when approaching the repair area and avoid overtaking while passing through the affected section.
Authorities have also urged travelers to follow traffic signs and instructions issued by Motorway Police personnel to avoid any untoward incident.
