A global ranking of the world’s most and least powerful passports has been released, with Singapore retaining the top position, according to the latest Henley Passport Index.

The report states that citizens of Singapore can travel visa-free to 192 destinations, maintaining its status as the world’s most powerful passport.

In second place, Japan, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates share the ranking, with visa-free access to 187 countries. They are followed by Norway and Switzerland, whose citizens can travel to 185 destinations without a visa.

According to the report, European countries collectively dominate passport strength rankings, with the European Union averaging visa-free access to 183 countries comparable to Malaysia and the United Kingdom.

At the lower end of the index, Afghanistan ranks last, with its citizens able to travel visa-free to only 23 destinations. It is followed by Syria in second-last place and Iraq in third.

Pakistan ranks fourth among the weakest passports globally, with its citizens enjoying visa-free access to 31 countries.
