PESHAWAR: Adviser to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sports and Youth Affairs Taj Muhammad Tarand has categorically rejected the baseless propaganda regarding the Imran Khan Stadium event, saying there is no question of ignoring his image.
Currently, Imran Khan Cricket Stadium is hosting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cricket League, where a launching ceremony was held. However, the event has been organised by a private organisation, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Champion League (KCL), not the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
He said that KCL had made all the arrangements, including advertisements, Panaflex and others, while the KP Sport department only provided the stadium. And for this purpose, the KCL would regularly pay the fixed fee for the use of the stadium to the Sports Department.
He said that the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was invited to the event, but he did not attend, saying that famous cricketer Shahid Afridi was invited to the event by the Governor of KP.
He said during the speech, Imran Khan was specially mentioned and paid tribute to him, as the KP government is Imran Khan’s government, there is no question of ignoring his image, adding Imran Khan’s image is the most prominent in all official events of the Sports Department, says Taj Muhammad Khan. He asked general public should not pay attention to fabricated and baseless news, trust only authentic information, the KP Advisor on Sports concluded.
