ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has clarified whether a child’s B-Form can be obtained using only the father’s Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) if the mother does not have one.
Responding to a citizen’s query, NADRA officials explained that the absence of a mother’s CNIC does not necessarily prevent a child from obtaining a B-Form, provided the mother’s identity can be verified through biometric records.
However, officials said that if the mother has never been registered with NADRA, the situation could be more complicated. In such cases, there may also be a possibility that the parents’ marriage has not been officially registered, meaning a family number may not have been issued.
According to NADRA, the absence of a family number could create difficulties in obtaining a B-Form for the child.
The authority therefore stressed the importance of both parents having their CNICs issued and their family records properly registered with NADRA to facilitate the child registration process.
