ISLAMABAD: Director General Immigration and Passports Muhammad Ali Randhawa has directed officials to accelerate the implementation of the new passport application system.

Randhawa chaired a meeting with all zonal heads, where he directed officials to further strengthen security and safety arrangements at passport offices to ensure the protection of both the public and staff.

He also instructed all field offices to upgrade their IT infrastructure and expedite the implementation of the new passport application.

The meeting further decided to install dual-screen systems at all passport data entry counters, enabling applicants to view, verify and correct their personal information themselves.

The DG directed officials to ensure effective security arrangements at passport offices, with particular emphasis on maintaining a safe, orderly and secure environment, clearly defined entry and exit points, adequate emergency arrangements and other necessary safety measures.

Randhawa stressed that all necessary steps should be implemented effectively to provide citizens with better, secure, transparent and efficient passport services.
