PESHAWAR: In a major push towards digital transformation, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police on Friday launched the KP Cop App, an integrated platform offering a range of administrative, operational, and welfare services for police personnel.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Zulfiqar Hameed introduced the App, describing it as a major milestone in the digital transformation of police. The App was unveiled during a ceremony at the Central Police Office.
According to a police spokesperson, the digital platform has been developed to modernise police administration, enhance operational efficiency, and strengthen welfare services for police personnel.
During the ceremony, DIG IT Ijaz Ahmad briefed participants on the App’s key features, saying it would connect around 126,000 police officers and personnel through a secure digital platform.
The App offers a wide range of services, including a QR code-based digital service card linked to the Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS), access to service records, digital duty rosters, inventory management, official weapons and equipment records, real-time transfer and posting updates, command directives, and an online complaint management system.
Among its key features is KPol Cam, which enables officers to livestream incidents directly to the Safe City Control Room, allowing authorities to monitor situations in real time and coordinate swift responses. The App also includes an SOS alert system for emergencies and secure communication channels for sharing sensitive information with senior police leadership.
In his address, IGP Zulfiqar Hameed said the KP Cop App would strengthen transparency, accountability, and command and control while enabling faster decision-making and improving internal communication across the force.
He said the initiative reflects the department’s commitment to leveraging modern technology and governance reforms to build a more professional, efficient, and public-friendly police service. He added that the digital platform would not only streamline internal operations but also enhance the overall capacity of the force to deliver effective policing in the province.
