PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Education Department has issued strict directives to prevent unauthorized individuals, contractors and firms from interfering in school development projects and accessing development funds.
According to a notification issued by the Elementary and Secondary Education Department, some reports came to light at the department as well as UNICEF Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to which some people were contacting PTCs on the basis of false claims that they were working as vendors for UNICEF in order to get into school development projects.
It has been made clear by the department that UNICEF has not contracted anyone for this purpose.
Officials have directed all concerned authorities to ensure that no unauthorized person, company, firm or vendor is allowed to influence School Development Plan (SDP) activities or contact PTCs regarding school funds.
The department further instructed that SDP funds must be utilized strictly according to approved rules, regulations and financial procedures. It also emphasized the need for effective monitoring mechanisms to prevent misuse, embezzlement or fraud involving school development resources.
The education authorities directed officials to immediately report any attempt at unauthorized interference or financial irregularities so that legal and administrative action could be initiated against those responsible.
The department said transparency and accountability in the utilization of school development funds remain a priority to ensure that resources are used for improving educational facilities.
