KOHAT: Following a recent explosion in Kohat, security forces and police launched an immediate crackdown in the area, cordoning off all entry and exit routes leading to the blast site.
In a swift retaliatory response, three terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij were eliminated. According to initial reports, preliminary findings suggest that the neutralized attackers were Afghan nationals; however, authorities have stated that official confirmation regarding their nationality is still pending.
In the wake of the incident, a comprehensive search and rescue operation is currently underway. Rescue authorities have cautioned that the final tally of casualties and injuries may fluctuate as the clearance and search operations progress. The blast claimed lives of seven persons and injured 48 persons. The injured also include 15 police personnel and DSP city.
