QUETTA: At least 12 terrorists were killed in a counter-terrorism operation in the Paroom Aphan area of Balochistan on Saturday.
According to security sources, the security forces carried out timely and effective action against terrorists affiliated with the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). In the operation, M-4 rifles, machine guns, hand grenades and communication equipment were recovered from the possession of the killed terrorists.
A search and clearance operation was underway in the area to trace any remaining militants who may have escaped during the operation. Security sources said operations against militants involved in activities threatening peace and security in Balochistan and other parts of the country would continue.
Earlier, in another intelligence-based operation in Chagai areas, at least two terrorists were gunned down and a large quantity of arms and ammunition were recovered by the forces.
