SOUTHAMPTON: England wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler has surpassed former India captain Rohit Sharma on the list of highest run-scorers in T20 internationals.
Buttler achieved the milestone during England’s first T20I against Sri Lanka in Southampton, where he played an impressive innings of 80 runs off 44 balls, including eight fours and three sixes.
Following his knock, Buttler’s T20I career tally reached 4,292 runs in 161 matches, taking him past Rohit Sharma’s total of 4,231 runs.
Pakistan’s Babar Azam remains at the top of the list with 4,596 runs in 145 T20I matches, while India’s Virat Kohli is fourth with 4,188 runs.

In the match, England posted a formidable 254 for 4 in their 20 overs after batting first. Chasing a target of 255, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 135 in 19 overs.
England therefore secured a comprehensive victory, with Buttler’s match-winning contribution also helping him reach a new milestone in his T20I career.
