ISLAMABAD: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again come under fire for his peculiar diplomatic tactics on social media.
He welcomed the historic peace deal between the US and Iran but deliberately avoided mentioning Pakistan in it, which has left users on X (formerly Twitter) in a state of shock.
I welcome the understanding reached between the United States and Iran on ending the conflict in West Asia, which has caused serious economic disruption across the world and led to loss of life in many countries.
India hopes that the implementation of this understanding will…

As soon as Modi’s tweet surfaced, the comments section became a field of geopolitical debate, with thousands of users slamming Modi.
One user mocked Modi’s diplomatic narrow-mindedness and wrote: “Modi ji really liked the product, but he is getting blisters on his tongue when he mentions the name of its manufacturer (Pakistan). If this is not jealousy, then what else is it?”
Another user commented, referring to the 108-day long mediation, “Writing a whole paragraph on such an agreement and digesting the name of the country that made it possible by working together for 108 days and nights is really a lot of hard work, but Modiji, the world is not that stupid, everyone knows who made this peace possible.”
A user wrote in the comments, while swiping Pakistani flags, “Erasing the name does not change the reality, Modiji!” History will bear witness that when two great powers were burning in the fire of war, Pakistan showed the world the path to peace.”
A user from within India itself, holding up a mirror to his government, wrote, “Since when have we become so small in diplomacy? If our neighbor has done a good deed, what is wrong with acknowledging it? This tweet has not reduced Pakistan’s stature, rather we are becoming a spectacle in the international community.”
Another social media user sneered, saying: “Modi ji’s tweet is like someone praising the Taj Mahal but refusing to tell that it is located in India. Keep personal grudges away from international diplomacy.
Modi’s tragedy was not only created by ordinary users but also by political circles within India itself.
Indian opposition leaders called Modi’s thinking ridiculous, saying that this move makes India appear a small and isolated country on the global stage, while Pakistan has emerged as a major global peacemaker.
According to observers, India had taken a tough stance with the US and Israel at the beginning of the war, but now that the conflict has been resolved, India has been backed into a diplomatic corner.
These diplomatic efforts of Islamabad are being widely appreciated at the global level and Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has officially announced that the final agreement will be signed in Geneva on June 19.
