ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan has rejected reports that party founder Imran Khan criticised Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi or expressed dissatisfaction with the party leadership.

Speaking to the media, Barrister Gohar said he had contacted Imran Khan’s sister, Noreen Niazi, by phone after her meeting with the PTI founder. According to him, Noreen Niazi did not share details of the meeting and had said she would not discuss it publicly after leaving.

Barrister Gohar described reports circulating about the meeting as fabricated, stressing that Imran Khan had made no remarks against Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and had not expressed any displeasure with the PTI leadership.

He said Noreen Niazi appeared happy after meeting her brother, but added that all details of the private meeting could not be made public.

The PTI chairman also urged people not to circulate fabricated statements attributed to Imran Khan.

Dr Noreen Niazi met Imran Khan at Adiala Jail on August 18. Following the meeting, speculation emerged in political and social media circles regarding what was discussed. Barrister Gohar has now rejected the reports suggesting that the PTI founder had differences with the KP chief minister or party leadership.
