PESHAWAR: Secretary General of Pakistan Peoples Party, Muhammad Humayun Khan, has expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Hindu community for wholeheartedly supporting the appeal made by President Asif Ali Zardari to observe Holi with simplicity and a spirit of national unity.

He stated that by fully endorsing the President’s appeal, the Hindu community has set a shining example of patriotism, responsibility, and national consciousness. This gesture reflects that all citizens of Pakistan prioritize national interest, peace, and stability above all else.

Muhammad Humayun Khan emphasized that in view of the current security situation and circumstances along the western border, it is wise to keep public gatherings and large-scale celebrations limited in order to ensure national security and maintain law and order. He stressed that adopting precautionary measures and adhering to the directives issued by local authorities is a shared responsibility of all citizens.

He reaffirmed that Pakistan is a country that takes pride in its religious and cultural diversity, where followers of all faiths enjoy complete freedom to celebrate their religious festivals. However, in light of present challenges, demonstrating national harmony, responsibility, and unity is the need of the hour.

While paying tribute to the Hindu community across Pakistan, Muhammad Humayun Khan extended advance greetings on the occasion of Holi and expressed hope that the festival of colours will be celebrated with simplicity, moderation, and mutual respect under the spirit of national unity.

He further reiterated that the Pakistan Peoples Party will continue its efforts to promote interfaith harmony, brotherhood, and sustainable peace in the country.
