PESHAWAR: The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has introduced a Ramzan package for the deserving citizens of the province. According to the package, 1 million families will be given Rs12,500 each.

According to officials, citizens can get the benefit of the package by contacting their Nazim, councillor, or any other representative of their area. They will be required to provide a copy of their National Identity Card (NIC) along with their mobile number and the name of their mobile operator, such as Jazz, Ufone, or any other.

The copy of the NIC will be sent to the district administration, and after that, the financial assistance will be provided to the NIC number within a few days.

A verification code will be sent to the mobile number of the applicant. The applicant will be required to visit the nearest Easypaisa shop and provide his/her NIC and the code, along with biometric verification (fingerprint), to get the Rs12,500. Officials said that the process is completely secure, and no one can get the money without the consent and biometric verification of the recipient.

The authorities have asked the citizens to provide their NIC copies to the representatives as soon as possible to get the Ramzan package on time.

KP govt considers dedicated quota for PTI MPAs in Ramzan relief package

Earlier, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to allocate Rs 12.8 billion under the Ramzan relief Package and provide Rs 12,500 each to 1 million deserving families.

However, according to sources, a special quota has also been set for Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) members of the provincial assembly and office bearers in the relief package, which has sparked debate in political circles.

Sources say that a quota of five thousand people has been set for each PTI member of the assembly, as well as a special portion for the party’s MNAs and unsuccessful candidates in the recent elections.

Furthermore, there are reports that a quota of two and a half thousand people has been set for PTI’s tehsil chairman, while five thousand people have been set for the heads of the women’s wing, youth wing, and ISF.

According to the Social Welfare Department, the relief money will be delivered to the deserving families through banks to ensure transparency.
