ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested three officials, including the head of Border Health Services, in connection with alleged irregularities in the procurement of vaccines for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.
According to sources, the FIA Islamabad carried out an operation in Karachi following Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s notice of the matter and arrested the current head of Border Health Services, Dr Abid Shah.
The other two arrested officials are former Border Health Services chief Dr Ghulam Mustafa and Dr Pardeep Kumar.
Sources said the suspects were being transferred from Karachi to Islamabad, where a case would be registered against them.
