The federal government has officially launched a home delivery service for passports, enabling applicants to receive their passports at their doorstep instead of visiting passport offices for collection.

The initiative was introduced by the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports in collaboration with private courier company TCS.

The service was formally announced during a meeting at the directorate’s headquarters between Director General Immigration and Passports Muhammad Ali Randhawa and TCS Chief Executive Officer Hassan Raza Laghari.

Under the agreement, TCS has been designated as the official service partner of the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports for passport delivery.

Applicants will now be able to choose the home delivery option through the courier service at the time of submitting their passport application, eliminating the need to return to passport offices to collect their documents.

Officials said the new service will provide a faster, safer and more convenient way for citizens to receive their passports.

The initiative is part of the government’s broader efforts to improve public services in line with the reform agenda of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

The launch follows the government’s earlier decision to introduce cashless payment systems at passport offices across the country, with the latest initiative aimed at further reducing processing hassles while saving applicants both time and travel costs.
