Gold prices in Peshawar were sold at Rs400 per tola, pushing it above the Rs425,000 mark, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA).
The association said the price of 24-karat gold per tola increased to Rs425,436, reflecting the latest rise in the domestic bullion market. Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold climbed by Rs343 to Rs364,742, while 10 grams of 22-karat gold rose by Rs314, reaching Rs334,358.
The increase in local gold prices followed a modest gain in the international bullion market, where gold rose by $4 per ounce to $4,030. Meanwhile, silver prices moved in the opposite direction. The price of silver per tola declined by Rs134 to Rs6,155, while 10 grams of silver fell by Rs115, settling at Rs5,276. In the global market, silver prices dropped by $1.34 per ounce to $56.76.
Market analysts said fluctuations in gold prices are driven by international market trends, movements in the US dollar, global economic conditions, and domestic demand and supply dynamics. They noted that geopolitical uncertainty and investor demand for safe-haven assets continue to influence precious metal prices worldwide.
