Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has, based on a joint intelligence operation, arrested four suspects involved in the illegal issuance of fake documents for Afghan nationals.
According to the FIA Spokesperson, the arrested suspects include: Inam Ul Haq (Assistant Director, NADRA), Fayyaz Ahmed (Deputy Assistant Director, NADRA), Junaid Ahmed (Chowkidar, NADRA), and Muhammad Umar Shah (private agent).
Preliminary investigations reveal that the suspects were allegedly facilitating the issuance of fake identity documents for Afghan nationals, manipulation of official records, and other unlawful activities. Initial evidence indicates links of this network with terrorist elements, and further in-depth investigation is underway.
During the operation, important records and other incriminating material have been seized. The scope of the investigation has been further widened. The spokesperson added that more significant revelations and arrests are expected, and all facilitators and key operators of this network will be brought to justice.
FIA and law enforcement agencies remain firmly committed to continuing indiscriminate actions to eliminate terrorism, its facilitators, the illegal issuance of fake identity documents and such organized criminal networks, in the larger interest of national security.
