A court has granted major judicial relief to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif and Information Minister Atta Tarar.
Judge Afzal Majoka dismissed a petition filed by PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan regarding the PTI protest of November 26.PTI had filed the request seeking action against the Prime Minister, Interior Minister, Defence Minister and Information Minister over the November 26 protest.
Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Advocate Khurram Latif Khosa appeared before the court during the hearing. The court rejected the PTI application, providing relief to the federal ministers named in the case.
November 26 protest was staged by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in Islamabad, while demanding the release of party founder Imran Khan and protesting against alleged electoral rigging.
The protest led to clashes between PTI workers and law enforcement agencies, resulting in multiple arrests and disruption in the federal capital for several days.
Following the protest, PTI leadership filed petitions in various courts seeking action against top government officials, alleging misuse of state authority and a crackdown against peaceful demonstrators.
Today’s ruling dismisses one of the key petitions and is seen as a significant legal relief for the federal government amid ongoing political tensions.
