ISLAMABAD: The government has extended the application deadline for its nationwide free digital skills training initiative designed to help young people develop online earning capabilities, officials announced.

According to government sources, the programme, launched by the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission in partnership with the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, seeks to train the youths in high-demanded digital skills, including freelancing and artificial intelligence among others.

The officials also revealed that the application period for the programme has been further extended to June 21, 2026, allowing more youths an opportunity to take advantage of the training programmes.

Launched under the name “Skills of Tomorrow”, the programme comprises free short term training sessions which last about three months and are provided in various cities across Pakistan, including Islamabad.

Representatives of the programme revealed that the training programmes will prepare young people to work in accordance with the international demand, where many young people earn foreign currencies by undertaking remote and freelance jobs.

It should be noted that the emphasis was put on the fact that the course offers vocational skills, especially in high-demand areas such as information technology, which is one of the steps aimed at enhancing youth employability in the country.
