ISLAMABAD: Citizens can now check where their Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) has been used over the past 10 years through a new feature introduced in the Pak ID mobile application, according to official information.
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched this monitoring feature aimed at helping citizens protect their identity data and prevent fraud by increasing transparency in the use of CNIC verification records.
Through the Pak ID app, users can reportedly view their usage or verification history, including records of where and when their CNIC was used for activities such as opening bank accounts, issuing SIM cards, or other verification processes.
To access the service, users are required to download the Pak ID application, log into their account, and navigate to the “Usage History” or “Verification History” section. The system then displays available records, including recent activity, with expanded access to long-term history depending on system availability.
Officials say the feature is designed to improve digital security and give citizens better control over their identity information.
In addition to the mobile application, users can also access their CNIC history through NADRA’s official online portal by logging into their account.
For SIM-related verification, citizens can send their CNIC number via SMS to 668 to check the number of SIMs registered against their identity.
Authorities say the initiative is part of broader efforts to strengthen digital governance and safeguard personal data in an increasingly digital environment.
