NOWSHERA: Deputy Commissioner Nowshera Gohar Zaman Wazir has announced the closure of all public and private educational institutions across the district on Monday, October 12, 2026.

According to an official notification issued by the deputy commissioner, the closure will apply to all educational institutions, including schools, colleges and universities.

All Exams and Papers Cancelled

The district administration has also declared all examinations and examination papers scheduled for October 12 cancelled.

Officials of the relevant departments and heads of educational institutions have been directed to ensure strict compliance with the issued orders.

Mardan: All Educational Institutions to Remain Closed Tomorrow

Meanwhile, the district administration in Mardan here on Sunday announced that all public and private educational institutions would remain closed in the district tomorrow (Monday).

According to a notification issued from the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Mardan said that all government and private schools, colleges and universities will remain closed on Monday.

Moreover, it further said that all examinations and papers scheduled for that day have also been cancelled. Officials of the relevant departments and heads of educational institutions have been directed to ensure strict compliance with the orders.

BRT Service Suspended

Earlier, amid security situation, Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service has been temporarily suspended in Peshawar here on Sunday.

According to reports, due to road closures and the security situation, the aurorities concerned ordered suspending the BRT service in the provincial metropolis. A spokesperson for TransPeshawar said BRT staff remained present at the stations.

He added that the service would be restored after an assessment of the situation. Passengers were advised to check for the latest updates before traveling. The BRT service is a major public transport service that provides affordable and convenient travel to thousands of passengers every day.

The service operates buses on dedicated routes and connects several key areas of the provincial capital, helping reduce traffic congestion and making daily travel easier for students, workers and other commuters.
