WASHUK: Security forces killed three militants during an intelligence-based operation in the Para Bijar area of Basima tehsil in Balochistan’s Washuk district, according to security sources.

The operation was launched after intelligence reports indicated the presence of six to eight militants in the area, located around five kilometres south of Pattak and 27 kilometres southwest of the Basima camp.

Following the receipt of the intelligence, security personnel already deployed in Pattak moved towards the reported location and launched an operation against the militants.

An intense exchange of fire took place between the security forces and the militants, resulting in the deaths of three militants. Their bodies were taken into custody by the security forces.

Two of those killed were identified as Najamuddin, son of Ali Hassan, a resident of Sherinza, and Adnan, son of Jalaluddin, a resident of Nushki. The identity of the third militant is being ascertained.

Security forces also recovered a large quantity of weapons and ammunition from the militants following the operation.
