PESHAWAR: Tremors jolted various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), including Chitral, Swat, Malakand, Peshawar and Mohmand district, sending residents rushing out of their homes.
According to the seismological center, the earthquake registered a magnitude of 4.9 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was located in the mountainous Hindu Kush region, with a depth of 196 kilometers underground.

Strong tremors were also felt in Batkhela and surrounding towns, alongside Swat and its adjacent areas.
