PESHAWAR: Peshawar police have launched a crackdown on individuals allegedly uploading objectionable and unethical content on social media platforms, with two people arrested over the use of obscene and inappropriate language in TikTok videos.
According to police, the Pashtakhara Police Station arrested two individuals allegedly involved in making TikTok videos containing offensive and inappropriate language.
Police said the suspects pledged to refrain from creating similar videos and uploading objectionable content on social media in the future.
The arrests are part of a wider police campaign against what authorities describe as inappropriate or unlawful content being shared on social media.
Separately, Mathra Police arrested four suspects allegedly involved in uploading videos showing the display of weapons on social media.
Police said the suspects had posted videos featuring weapons on social media platforms.
During the operation, police reportedly recovered three Kalashnikovs, one rifle, one pistol and ammunition from the suspects.
Cases have been registered against the arrested individuals, and further investigation is underway.
The latest action highlights Peshawar police’s increasing focus on social media activity, particularly TikTok videos involving allegedly obscene content and the public display of weapons.
