Global crude oil prices rose again in international markets, driven by escalating tensions in the Middle East and growing concerns over disruptions to global energy supplies.
According to the latest market data, US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude rose 18 cents, or 0.20 per cent, to $91.48 per barrel.
Brent crude, the international benchmark, increased by 76 cents, or 0.80pc, to $96.28 per barrel.
Meanwhile, the price of Murban crude stood at $103.30 per barrel after declining by $1.42, or 1.36pc.
Natural gas prices also increased, rising 6.2 cents, or 2.13pc, to $2.975 per unit.
According to Reuters, Brent crude gained 7.6pc over the previous week, while WTI rose by nearly 10pc.
Market sentiment has been influenced by the ongoing tensions in the Middle East, concerns over potential supply disruptions and fears surrounding the movement of oil through the Strait of Hormuz, Reuters reported.
