RAWALPINDI: England captain Harry Brook has reportedly made history by scoring the fastest double century in One-Day International (ODI) cricket during a match against Sri Lanka in the ongoing tri-nation series in Pakistan.

Brook reached the 200-run mark in just 114 balls at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, surpassing the previous record held by India’s Ishan Kishan, who scored an ODI double century off 126 deliveries.

The England skipper was eventually dismissed for a remarkable 202 off 116 balls, becoming the first English batter to score a double century in men’s ODI cricket.

Brook’s innings also broke the record for the highest individual score by an England batter in ODIs. He surpassed Ben Stokes’ previous record of 182 runs.

The performance marks a significant milestone for English cricket, with Brook setting new benchmarks for both the fastest ODI double century and the highest individual ODI score by an English batter.
