RAWALPINDI — Security forces successfully neutralized an armed assailant on Mall Road, Rawalpindi, after he opened fire on a routine security vehicle earlier today, according to security sources.
According to details, a security forces vehicle was on routine patrol along Mall Road when a pedestrian suddenly targeted it with a 9mm pistol. In strict compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the law, security personnel immediately retaliated in self-defense, resulting in the death of the attacker on the spot.
Security sources identified the deceased individual as Muhammad Hussain, a resident of the Khyber district and reportedly an active member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Authorities reported recovering a party flag, a firearm, ammunition, and important documents.
